Originally from New York, Dr. Sumra attended University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. While in college, she decided to pursue dentistry because it combined her passion for science and art—and gave her the opportunity to work with her hands. Growing up near NYC, she spent time with family and friends, going to the beach, and finding the best pizza and bagels that New York has to offer.

She always dreamed about living on the West Coast, so she decided to move to Seattle, WA, where she fell in love with the mountains. She completed advanced training in oral surgery, implant dentistry, root canal therapy, intravenous sedation, and pediatric dentistry through a General Practice Residency at Swedish Medical Center. During her residency, she had the opportunity to treat patients with various medical complexities, special needs, developmental delays, and dental phobias.
In her free time, Dr. Sumra loves trail running, mountain biking, skiing, and practicing yoga with her husband, Sam, and their two dogs.
